RE: Transplanting Brunfelsia?
I have a well-established brunfelsia - Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow - planted up against the house and it needs to be moved away from the foundation. It’s already been pruned hard to about 4′ tall and is doing just fine, will it tolerate being transplanted? It’s been thriving under complete neglect - I don’t water at all in the summer because it always is doing so well. Any other experiences …

RE: Lady of the night
Lady of the night might be Brunfelsia americana or Brunfelsia nitida. Both produce flowers which are fragrant at night. The angel’s trumpets, Brugmansia spp. also have flowers which are fragrant at night. These flowers are huge, and may be orange, white, or pink and hang down.
RE: Lady of the night
Is anyone familiar with this flowering plant (probably in the jasmine family)known as “lady of the night” also “brunfelsia americana“? As the name suggests, it gives off a fragrance only between the hours of dusk and dawn. During the day there is zero fragrance. I have seen one huge plant here in northeast Florida which tells me that it would probably thrive in my garden even though we do have …

RE: Need help from gardeners (flower not veggie) pics
…back. Nightmares. Anyway, I was thinking about one of my favorite shrubs in my yard and how if I had to do it all over again I’d plant it closer to the house. It’s called a brunfelsia (Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow). Very nice, compact shrub and has beautiful purple flowers that smell amazing. Depending on how far up you remove the sod along your sidewalk, you could plant a few…
RE: Are ya’ll working in the yard yet?
… been putting down some fresh mulch but ran out and will be doing that again this weekend. I love love love working in the yard. Here are a few new plants I started this year: Brunfelsia (Yesterday Today and Tomorrow): Persian Shield: Popcorn Cassia: This is my butterfly garden: Passiflora alata careulea: Have a great day everyone! ~Betsy
RE: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow
Unless you have a very nice southern exposure than stays extra warm in winter I would keep it in a pot. Dappled light throughout the day or some morning sun and dappled afternoon should keep it happy. Brunfelsia is pretty tender but a very cool plant. I had it in Hawaii and loved it. It didn’t like hot sun there either. Happy Planting David
